Today was another crazy day. I think we fight way too much! And Eric nailed it when he said that we need to offer solutions to problems instead of feeding off negative energy. However, I'm not writing this to chastise ya'll, just to offer hope that everything will be okay!

This class is an experiment, a test to see if we can handle what a workplace will be like. We shouldn't have to have a boss standing over our shoulders to direct us in everything. Each group is full of smart, bright people who can organize themselves and do something productive.
For example: My people group can start planning the class party and trainings on Org. Comm. theory. The capital group can figure out how much money we have to spend and what the possible costs of other class adventures will be. The technology group can figure out our blogging system. The marketing group can prepare advertisements or designs for our class to approach the other class with. The communications group can continue helping us fix the kinks in our "firm."

What I'm trying to say is that there are things to be done. We know what those things are, and instead of complaining that there's no direction, start moving! Start a project. Start a research topic, and then see where it leads.

We are an awesome class! We can do this! Let's get in our groups and start doing something - please!

Nicci! Well said! I think that's exactly what are class needs to do. Let's "act and not be acted upon." Absolutely nothing will get done without acting. Let's take a step of faith into the darkness and do something! So we don't know exactly what we're supposed to do. But we'll never know what we could have done if we just sit and wait for something to happen. I say we start doing the things Nicci has suggested and anything else someone in the class thinks we could start working on and get going!

Well I'm glad we are finally learning our purpose as a class. I really want to thank the organizational group for leading the class to find it's purpose. I think the whole class has been feeling a little lost. Now that we know what we want out of class we can actually help everyone to gain what they want. I feel like I have been learning a lot of valuable lessons and insights from Brother Adams. I also feel that I have been learning a lot about communication within an organization as we have tried to set up our "Clark and Young" firm. I never realized how complicated and intricate even a small organization can be. I also didn't realize how complicated it can be to organize the communication strategies within an organization.

I hope that as a class we can focus on learning the theories and facets of effective communication within an organization and get some practical experience using the firm. I also hope that we don't lose sight of these goals and turn the class into a group dynamics class.

let's be honest. we are no further now than we were at the beginning of this semester. i know no more now than then. however, if we can finally begin working with these companies by integrating our organized, structured firm, we may be able to gain something productive.

Today, we as a class, started on our own. We had the prayer and the scripture. Then we decided to develop our plan of action, since we are kind of in charge of the class. Fortunately, Brother Adams came back from a meeting and was able to assist us in our problems. The work we will be doing in Comm. 250 will coincide with Comm. 450. We will work collaboratively as an organizational consulting firm. In our class, we are all in separate groups. I am in the people group.

I believe that our goal as a class is to create strategies and lower the stress levels of others while they are experiencing changes in the development process. It will be difficult, but I hope that it will be manageable. As a people group, going through this project will help us in our future careers. We will be able to create a "portfolio" with all of our work and results.

There is a level of maturity that we all go through. The first level is codependent, which deals with only ourselves. Then comes counter dependence, which is not us. Next, we have dependence (you) and independence (I). In the middle of that their is a triangle. This deals with private victory. In order to achieve private victory, we have to be proactive, begin with the end in mind, and put first things first. Finally, we have the interdependence level, which also has a triangle below it. It involves the following: seek to understand then be understood, synergize, and think win/win or their will be no deal. These are some of the ideals we went over in class today.
